Yes, you can. First, ensure it is not a message being issued by your operating system or security software. If it is, you must set appropriate settings within that software. If not, do the following. Ensure you are using the latest release of the RecordsKeeper. If you are, there should be a file in your install folder named RegistryEdit. Double click this file to initiate a program that will make an adjustment in your registry. Accept all warning messages. When you restart the RecordsKeeper, you should no longer see the warning message.
Yes you can if the RecordsKeeper data file is accessible to those computers via a network. First, locate and place a file named RKTables.accde in a folder that is available to the computers in question. You then have to ensure that each copy of the RecordsKeeper is pointing to that file. To do this: first open the options screen. Set system option switch 6 'On' to activate the 'Change Database Location' button. Click that button and then follow the instrcutions on the 'Set Database Location' screen. Repeat these steps in each copy of the RecordsKeeper and ensure they all point to the same data file. Remember that if you download a later version of the RecordsKeeper, you may have to repeat these steps after you install a new version if your data file is not in the default C: directory.
If you are not a registered user and are attempting to use the application beyond the 30 day trial period, you will receive this message.
If you are a registered user and have previously entered an unlock code, the Recordskeeper entries in your registry file have become corrupted for some reason. This can occur if you restored or reloaded your operating system.
If you encounter this situation, you will have to run a utility program to reset the registry values. Please let us know about the condition by using the support request form found on the 'Contact Us' page or by writing directly to support@therecordskeeper.com
and we will respond with instructions on how to rectify this condition.
If
you upgraded to this version from an earlier version, you will have to re-establish a linkage to your data when you next open the application.
To do this, you must sign in as the default user. Open the 'System Options' screen, select option # 6, then click the 'Change Database Location' button.
On the screen that opens, ensure that the 'Path and Filename' box contains the location of your table file, then click the 'Refresh' button.
When you sign in again, your data will be available to you.
Passwords prevent others from accessing a specific user's data.
Users can also elect to encrypt all textual data.
If storing sensitive data, a user can use these two options to protect the data, but should also ensure that the data table is adequately protected from intrusion and access in the same manner as any other sensitive data file on your computer would be protected.
Depending on what features you used, temporary workspace is created while the application is being used.
The temporary space created can cause the database to grow is size.
The temporary space is removed each time you close the database and the permanent data tables are reorganized for efficiency each time you close the application.
This may take several moments to complete depending on how large your data file is. Please be patient and let it finish normally.
