A: As many as you wish. There is no limit to the number of users or the number of things they can keep a record of.
A: In a database file on your computer. It
is initially stored on your C: drive, but you may move it to any
location on your computer that you prefer.
A: The time invlolved will vary, depending
on how you decide to organize your data, how many things or items you wish to
keep track of, and how much information you want to keep about them.
Getting started and setting up your personal information takes no more
than a few minutes. If any of the 'Sample' data applies to you, simply
copy it to your area and modify it accordingly. This should not take
long. From then on, the time it takes to create comprehensive records depends entirely on you.
A: No, but a little knowledge is always
helpful. The system is designed to be intuitive. For the beginner, there
is no need to use the advanced features. You can simply review the many
examples that are provided, copy and
change them to reflect your needs. For the more advanced user, there is
a broad range of customization features available. In any event, there
is comprehensive help information to guide you at every step.
A: Only you can answer that question, but
the help features and samples that are provided act as a subject matter
expert to guide you. Were you to visit an attorney or estate executor,
they would undoubtably urge you to organize your records the way the RecordsKeeper does. That kind of visit would cost a lot more than purchasing a copy of the RecordsKeeper.
A: Sure. You can use bits of paper or a
list in a binder or even alternative software designed just for this
purpose. Many people do. But records on paper are usually not very complete and difficult to
keep up to date. It is also much more difficult and time consuming to
keep comprehensive records on paper. Unfortunately, paper records cannot
automatically point to and open web-sites, documents, photos and other computer programs for you like the RecordsKeeper
can. Paper records don't easily provide you with reports that you can
store, share, e-mail or archive, either. Nor do paper records allow you
to easily insert a new item, or sort your items the way you want them.
Using computer software to do this overcomes a myriad of issues that you
will face if you try to keep your records in some other fashion.
A: Yes, in fact you can store any type of data that you can store on your computer. That includes numbers and text as well as photos, videos and any other type of files. You can also store links to open programs or files stored on your computer or to open web pages through your browser.
A: Yes, any language that your computer supports is available for your use. You can change virtually everything you see on your screen into any phrase or language that suits you.
A: Yes. You can download the application and try it free for 30 days. If you don't like what you see, nothing is lost. If after 30 days you think you need the RecordsKeeper,
you can purchase a licence for it. The data you have stored in your
trial version will not be lost, so you won't have to start over.
A: If within 30 days of purchase, you are not happy with the RecordsKeeper we will refund your money. We will simply ask you to tell us your reason for not wanting to continue using it so that we can continue to improve the program based on your feedback.
A: When you make your purchase, you are purchasing a license for all future versions and for all future support requirements. There will never be any additional costs.
A: There are help screens available throughout the application. Video tutorials are currently being produced to provide further support. There is an extensive support page on this web site. We do not provide telephone support, but we will respond to e-mail requests as quickly as possible and within one business day. If we are on-line via our web site, support is also available there immediately.
A: Your licence only applies to its use on a
single computer: the one in use when you enter your licence code. You
can apply for additional licences at no extra cost if you are using the
system on a home network or wish to keep your records on a second or
third computer.
A: Discounts are available for students and
seniors, and of course for group purchases. Special promotional pricing
is also sometimes put into effect. Just write to RecordsKeeper software
at info@therecordskeeper.com for information on current offers and how to apply for discount coupons.
